He hears a clatter from the other room and the little rito’s curse. It makes him snort as he grabs his towel and bottle again, moving back into the main room where he left Revali sitting at his dining table.
Somehow the little rito is now on the floor. Staring miserably up at the crossbeams in her roost like they’ve somehow personally insulted him. “I hate you.” Revali says. Still glowering above him and Milap sits back in his armchair, taking a slow drag from his bottle.
“Yeah? Why’s that?” She snorts again, amused when Revali whips his head around to glare at her and groans as vertigo hits him even on the floor.
“You bitch.” He slurs. “I said I wanted to get drunk. Not be sent to Hylia.”
Milap reaches for the bowl of tree nuts on the side table. Popping one into their mouth unconcerned. “Not my fault you can’t handle your liquor.” She says around a full mouth. Particulates falling onto her feathers where her shirt is unlaced. “Maybe if you weren’t such a chickadee about it-“
“I am NOT!” Despite his obvious dizziness Revali forces himself up and turns towards her. Wing outstretched to keep his balance. “I am not a chickadee! Take that back.” They keked in the back of their throat, slouching further into the comfort of the plush wool chair and held the bottle outstretched to the little rito. Revali’s face sours further. Glaring at the bottle while he debates the benefit of looking like a wuss or potentially not waking up tomorrow.
“I ain’t got all night chickadee.” He shakes the bottle and Revali chatters irritably as he takes it. Ignoring him again, Milap takes the bowl properly into his wings. Crunching away happily while Revali dig his own grave into the worst hangover he’ll ever experience in his life.
“See??” He says as he finishes. “Not a chickadee.” Clumsily he sets the bottle down on the table. Talons dragging against the rug in a way that might actually trip him if he’s not careful.
“Watch it.” They snap. Tracking him as he stumbles his way around to the bookshelf to glare at their choice in literature. He pulls a book and Milap can’t be bothered to gripe at him for it, letting him leaf through it with a drunken disinterest.
“None of these are interesting. What do you even do when you’re noth smithing?”
Beak quirking as his lisp peaks through he nods his head towards the other chair. Revali ignores him and keeps browsing his books. “I sit. And enjoy the silence of not having children bother me.” The little rito crows, offended and drops his fifth edition Complete Metalsmith on the floor. Her beak grinds in irritation. That’s a good book.
“I am not a child!” Both their eyes are narrowed at one another and Revali stalks towards him. “Besides. You let the hylian brat hang around your smith all day when he’s here. He’s younger than me!” Milap clucks at him in the back of his throat and Revali trills back.
“Yes. He is quiet.” You are not. “And polite.” Which you are also not. Revali growls low and angry.
“I don’t know what everyone sees in him. He’s not that great.” The kids feathers are rising. Working himself up over nothing. Never a great idea to do in general and certainly not a good one when drunk. But they can’t be bothered to care too much. If they exhaust themselves putting out one fire, Revali will just light another. So they stand to fix the books he left out of order on the shelf and put his Master Smithing back in its rightful place. She can hear Revali pacing behind her. Chattering under his breath. “Yes. I suppose he’s strong! And skilled with a sword! And maybe easy on the eyes. And- ugh- Hylia forbid nice.” He hisses the last word. “But he’s egotistical! And his bowmanship is crap. And last time he came to the village he acted like I didn’t know what his horse was!” He turns indignantly gesturing in Milap’s direction. “I know what a horse is! I go outside.” Revali’s braids clatter when he shakes his head. “And besides! He’s not all that good looking! He’s got a slightly chipped front tooth and his hair is a weird texture and- and-“ Milap turns, brow raised as Revali flounders. Beak opening and closing as his drunken brain works in overtime.
“He’s short!” He settles on, staring unfocused at the rug. She can’t help but laugh at him again. Throwing a wing around his shoulder.
“Look, just cause you have a hate crush on the dove doesn’t mean he’s a bad kid.” Revali squawks angrily at his words and fumbles to get out from under his wing. Violently flapping his own.
“I do nOT have a crush-!!!” His voice cracks halfway through the sentence and they watch in amusement as his feathers around his face flatten till he looks like a drowned cat. “I don’t know what makes you think I have a CRUSH but you’re wrong.” She chitters at him and leans into his space.
“Listen, I’m not the best for giving advice on this sort of thing. But it’s pretty obvious you have some kind of hate-crush-sex attraction thing going on with him.” He growls at her again and she just raises her brow in response. “Remember Alaida?” She says. His eyes widen and his crest raises and he stares blankly for a few minutes while the name processes until he chirps out and embarrassed sound.
“I- I didn’t- that wasn’t-! oh goddess……” Milap pats his shoulder and he buries his face in his wings mortified. “oh. how long was it that obvious? I’m so foolish. I’ve made an ass of myself.” She takes pity on his spiraling and grabs his shoulder again.
“Alright chickadee. You need to lay down. And eat something.” It’s a testament to how intoxicated he is that she has no problem dragging him down to the floor again. Shoving pillows and blankets at him until he’s at least semi cushioned. Stalking to her kitchenette, she grabs some dried salmon and fruit and a glass of water to balance in her wings and take back to the poor kid. Revali is chirping embarrassedly when they return. Head propped on his own knee, curled into a ball. “Eat.” They command. Pushing the jerky into Revali’s wing. He groans and shakes his head.
“Not ungry.”
“Don’t care. Your stomach is empty and you’re gonne feel like death tomorrow if you sleep like that.” They crouch to his level and force a beady red eye to meet Revali’s blown pupil. “Eat. Or I make you.” He groans again but complies slowly. Taking tiny nibbles of jerky with his eyes scrunched shut.
Content that he’ll not choke, she stands and makes for the kitchenette again. Though she can handle her own liquor well, she had quite a bit of that bottle too and she can feel her equilibrium is off. Pouring themself a glass of water and taking a sizable gulp he turns to snark over his shoulder. “You wouldn’t want me to have to regurgitate for you now would you?” They laugh at the disgusted sound he makes.
“Oh gods— shut up. I might actually be sick.” Their keking laugh fills the house and she takes a sick pride in how Revali covers his head with a blanket to drown her out. Good. Maybe he’ll actually sleep now.
She returns to her chair and props her feet up on a stool and waits in the silence a while. Enjoying it. Until she can hear Revali’s soft snores filter out from under the blanket. He chuckles and reaches for a book beside him to read until sleep finally drags him under as well.

How do you think a modern revalink dynamic would change (if at all) from like dating for a year or two vs. being married for several years? Your most recent post gave me brainworms, and I'm curious if your thoughts line up with mine!
HI IRI i hope you're enjoying the brainworms <3 i had to think about your actual question for a little bit because i got too excited at the idea of married revalink LMAO
tbh revalink being married kind of reminds me of my own parents, who have been married 20+ years, who bicker with each other all the time, but still act like every dinner is their first date because my dad is a sap. so in that sense, i feel like revali and link would still be utterly infatuated with one another, not in the puppy love way, but rather in a more evolved, mature way i guess? like revali will still be extremely fond of link and just how he is as a person, but after being married for 20+ years, he'll look up from his bowl of oatmeal at the breakfast nook to watch link wash the dishes in a tank top and boxers, and feel the urge to get up to hug link from behind. so he does and link will melt into him, continuing to wash the dishes and revali will kiss the back of link's neck, and it's like. this is the most content that revali has ever been in his entire life... until their seven year old comes running into the kitchen screaming being chased by their older sibling and the dog, but you get the point.
the way i'm perceiving it right now, it's like. when they first started dating, you could tell that revalink's dynamic was gonna be "two stubborn shitheads who are so obsessed with each other and fight as flirting", but thirty years later, their dynamic is like "two stubborn shitheads who are still obsessed with each other, but it's like their souls are always falling in step with one another." revali and link know each other like the back of each other's hands, they can predict each other's every movement and thought, and they don't have to say a word to know what the other needs or wants. they both grow really soft and sentimental over each other, and no one expects that from revali particularly. he can still bite tho (especially if you insinuate anything negative about him, link, or their marriage/family) so y'all be on your guard!
i do want to emphasize though, revali doesn't lose his tsundere-ness lol. like i said, he can still bite! he'll always have that streak of pride and arrogance but it's been significantly tempered by link's presence which is why i want to note that he's softer, not soft. but if you can catch the way he looks at link, any doubt you could have held that he loves link will disappear in seconds.
as for link, he's probably a little less feral than he was when they first started dating, but he's still jumping revali's bones at any given opportunity. definitely the type to let everyone know he has a husband and he loves his husband very much. revali's presence in his life has made link significantly brighter and sweeter to everyone around him because revali is his rock and link knows he always has someone to support him up through everything, so he doesn't need to worry.
so to completely answer your question: it's not that their dynamic changes by a lot, it just evolved and got stronger and more powerful. like pokemon. 😃👍
#revalink#loz#botw#loz botw#legend of zelda#amihan's revalinkverse#ask#iridescentgleam#can you guess where my unattainable standard for romance came from#my mom would the revali in the relationship#my dad isn't really a Link but by default he has to be#i once heard that when you get married#you have to choose to stay in love instead of relying on the feeling of love itself to propel your relationship#and i think revali n link definitely had to learn that the hard way to get to where they are now in their marriage#link is always being like “well my husband and i—” “so my husband—” “i was talking to my husband about—” always talking about his husband#my favorite way to explain relationships is the pokemon evolution analogy#if my partner isn't the key stone to my mega stone and we don't have a strong bond that temporarily makes me overpowered#I DON'T WANT THEM!!!!! 🗣️#would you believe that i've never been in a relationship before

do you write fics? Rather than headcanons? If so, can I ask about Revali x Fem!Reader, maybe of wedding night or something? After calamity and such?
Of course! Sorry it took so much time to write it.
Warnings: nsfw at the end, sub reader, gn reader
Revali x reader
Revali is so tired. The fight was difficult, all the warriors were injured, him included. He barely could fly, fresh wound adored his left wing, so then Gannon was defeated and Rito warrior finally got down from Vah Medo, he was met with crowd of cheering people... but Revali doesn't really care for congratulations he recieves. His eyes search crowd for only one person who matters now. You.
As soon as his eyes land on you, champion moves forward. Rito healers trail after him, trying to stop him, so they could wrap his injured wing. Blood soaked through all the feathers around wound, but he couldn't care less, then your eyes finally found his.
He huggs you with his good wing, keeping blood away from your clothes. Revali thought this fight would be his last one. That he won't come back to you. So now he doesn't want to delay, no hesitation anymore.
Blue-feathered warrior steps back and looks you in the eyes. "Marry me"
💙 💙 💙 💙 💙 💙
Some months passed, he didn't even let his wing heal fully, hurrying all the preparations to have the wedding as soon as possible. Surprisingly, Revali insisted on small celebration. "Family only" like he said. Champions, Zelda and Link were where too. Wedding wasn't too loud, food and friendly talks here and where, that's all that Revali and you wished for after such close call only some months ago. Everything felt right. You and him felt right.
💙 💙 💙 💙 💙 💙
Night came. After receiving some encouraging words from Urbosa about upcoming wedding night, you are finally ready to go. You didn't miss small chat Revali shared with Daruk, who petted his back with large grin (Revali nearly tripped over after that pet... but Daruk meant well) and sent him off to you. With that, all the guests said last wishes and you with rito left to have time for yourself.
Revali looks at you, his wife, who is completely stunning in wedding gain. You are finally his, officially his.
Your husband moves forward, tugging you to sit on bed with him.
"Nervous?" He mumbles, nuzzling your neck, wings wrap around your middle.
"A little" You admit softly
Revali humms, and tuggs you closer, making you sit on his lap. "Don't be"
He kisss your shoulder gently, wings go up and down by your sides. Still fresh scar feels a little rough against your body, but it's part of him, that reminds you of all the dangers he came over to be here with you now. Air fills with smell of Revali, your Revali. Flush colors your cheeks as you feel him tug you close.
"I am not heavy, am I?"
"Perfect" Your husband says between soft nuzzles and kisses at your neck and shoulders.
Everything fades in blurr afterwards. His warm body against yours, wings roaming your body. He was a little hesitant at the beginning, but then you both got into it, Revali didn't stop himself from getting his wings everywhere he could reach. Room got hot, hot in a good way. Soft sounds from both of you filled room, nothing harsh, honey sweet and loving.
"Oh, birdie..." Rito hisses, moving hips against yours in slow but steady rhythm. Chest to chest with you, leaning on his own wings on both sides of you, beak tucked in a crook of your neck, breathing in your scent.
"Close" You whine, pawing at his chest, legs wrapped around his hips.
"Me too, birdie, come on... just a little... ah!" His hips flatter and you both reach your high.
Afterwards, you both stay close, limbs tangled as you slowly start to drift off. Revali strokes your back gently.
"I love you" he whispers as you fall asleep with head on his chest.
Requests are open, but I write slowly, so forgive me if I answer it after month or so...

Hi Ms Saki! How has it been living with the Rito Champion of old? It was awful kind of you to take him in. Your husband seems quite a big fan! Has Revali been causing you much grief or is he a good house guest?
He's very well mannered contrary to what people say. He always cleans up after himself and says thank you to me when I make dinner.
He's a sweet kid, Tulin sees him as an older brother and it's absolutely adorable.
However he does not like talking about the calamity, I give him the space needed but I worry you know.
All considered he's a good guest, I don't know why people dislike him so.

Fuck it here’s part two of
My Ranking of How Quickly I’d Let These Fictional Men Rearrange My Organs
Still BotW/TotK edition because look at these men
You get the point, it’s gonna be hella NSFW because read the title
Oh but also this time I’m formatting the prompts like Stanzi Potenza’s “Animated Men I Would Sell My Body To At a Discount Price, The Discount Being Free Because I Would Never Make These Fine Gentlemen Pay For a Whore Like Me” series on YouTube
Cuz why not
But also this is just me thirsting after the most atrocious and/or attractive men in the Zelda universe
6. Master Kogha
This man may not be a fine dining experience, but he’s definitely worth your time for a banana or two.
A solid six-out-of-ten, the only thing that rivals your hatred for his superhero alter ego is his dad bod that puts furry artists on Twitter to shame.
They say that everything’s better with friends, and this man has a couple that would sweeten the deal, and as it happens, red spandex is absolutely up my alley.
A dork playing glorified dress-up doesn’t sound fun until his devotion to a demon king threatens an entire nation, and I am 100% here for it.
5. Revali
Fun fact, my favorite bird to eat is chicken, partially because I’m basic, but also because I could see myself sinking my canines into that cock.
His aim is im-peck-able, pun intended and unashamed, and he’s certain to get a bullseye into my heart.
I know he’s an egomaniac, but in the deep, dark, crevices of my mind, I know he’s mentally ruined. It’s the lifelong trauma and the “I can fix him” for me.
I love Rito clothing, especially since this man’s version of is the sluttiest thing on earth. After looking at him, I’m certain I’m not getting cold anytime soon.
He could treat me like the scum of the earth and I’d still be on all fours polishing his arrow free of charge. He’s like if a Disney prince realized he was a Disney prince.
4. Daruk
The only Goron I’d let pound me like a quarry, this man has warmed my heart like the fiery maw of his hometown’s tourist trap.
I could write a fifty-page essay about how this man’s kindness makes My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic look like more of a joke than it already is.
I know what I’ve said about Gorons literally crushing me to death, but as long as his words of encouragement are the last thing I hear as he erupts inside of me like Death Mountain, that’s all that really matters.
That loincloth isn’t doing much in the way of covering up his Boulder Breaker, and for that, I thank the weak fabric for its service to our nation. On the plus side, it’s white, so if he ever walks in the rain, that cloth’s purpose in life will have been fulfilled.
The fact that he has a grandson makes him not just a DILF but a GILF. In my opinion, fathers age like wine, so this is a win-win for me.
Combined with his white beard which resembles a mane more than facial hair, he’s like Santa if Santa was somehow both more and less cuddly at the same time.
And I know he’s afraid of dogs, but personally, that’s fine. I’m more of a cat person anyway.
3. Teba
Take everything I said about Revali and multiply it by the “white hair equals sexy” principle, and you have the new Rito chief.
I didn’t think it was possible to find anyone edgier than the spirit inside of the Master Sword, but here we are.
It is taking every ounce of my soul not to say “I can fix him” because clearly, I can’t and he doesn’t want me to.
. I would let him cry his heart out after nearly losing everything near and dear to him. There’s no shame, sweetie.
His wings are long, and I know of a few things that are longer. Given that he has procreated, it’s clear that the hot springs aren’t the only things that’ll be hot and steamy after a night with him.
Speaking of which, he’s a loving parent and a loving husband, which makes him a DILF, and let me tell you, the second that word becomes an adjective, the snow isn’t the only white thing covering the Hebra mountains.
If he could fly me into the skies, I would watch the sunset with him in silence as we realized the real magic was inside us all along or something like that. Whatever makes him happy, and yes, if he asks for it, that includes me swallowing a few of his bird eggs.
2. Tauro
Finally, a himbo the people can rely on.
We love seeing strong, partially-head-empty men being strong, partially-head-empty men.
Only I’m pretty sure this himbo is actually smart.
Idk I haven’t played enough or focused enough in Kakariko to find out lol
This man is investigating the ring ruins but he forgot about the ring he he to put on my finger.
He is giving “I’m going to save the world” and we love that. If you don’t, I see why- I did just say I liked villains- but I’m a double-sided coin.
Speaking of coins, flip one: head or tails? Which part of me is going to need to be replaced by Rauru? I don’t know, and quite frankly, I don’t care.
I personally have some depths for him to explore, and let me tell you, it’s gonna be the cave feeling his gloom infiltrate every orifice instead, and the cave will thank him.
His hair is giving the Hot Topic version of Melanie Martinez, and let me tell you, if I wasn’t a Crybaby, this man would have turned me.
I just love that every single Hylian around is taller than Link. I also love, however, that this man also towers over them too. Honestly, that makes things even better for me personally.
As long as Miss Papaya over there doesn’t realize that Link isn’t half the hero her grandma made him out to be, we won’t have problems. No worries here, chief, just doing some Zonai excavating.
1. King Dorephan
It’s known that this man singlehandedly defeated a Guardian, but judging by his measurements, all of which make the Empire State Building look like a stack of building blocks, it’s not hard to see how.
The leader of the Zora, this man is guaranteed to make any traveler feel right at home- hopefully, between the two logs he calls legs and the other two which he uses for other less savory deeds.
Not that I would mind, he could stretch my throat out to a time when the community will stop complaining about how the company keeps retconning the story with one and turn me into a make seahorse during conception with the other and I’d still have room. I have no shame.
If his son is a ten, he would have still been a ten before inflation.
You have to love a rich man with anatomically-correct shark organs. Jaws was really just my wake-up call after all, but not really because I like my men to talk dirty.
All I ask for in life is for this DILF to stretch me like taffy and squash me like a grape. Once that is achieved, I don’t care what Ganon does to Hyrule- I found my own sacred realm, thank you very much.

Hii if you wouldn’t mind maybe writing something about revali and a hylian reader! Maybe just do what you want with it im not picky I just love my bird husband ❤️❤️ thank you so much if you decide to take this ask!
You gave me too much power, anon 🤭
"Hold still, or you'll drop the arrow." Revali's chest was firmly against your back with his wings around you, teaching you how to handle the bow. This happened almost daily for the past week, the only difference being his length buried as deep as it could go inside of you. "C'mon, you were doing so well just a few minutes ago. I know you can do it." He teasingly purred into the crook of your neck.
You groaned, brows furrowed and hands sweaty against the premium wood of the bow. "Can we- can we take a break? Please?" You tried to turn your head to look at him, but a Wing quickly came up and forced your head back to its previous position. “Not until you do it right.”
You sighed, but it only came out as a shaky breath. You raised tone bow back up, moving the arrow back. His hands slipped down to your hips, his breath steady against the shell of your ear. You let go of the arrow, expecting it to fly, only for it to pathetically land on the floor with a bounce.
“You didn’t pull it back nearly far enough!” His chest rumbled against you with a hearty laugh. “Oh, how adorable.”
You huffed in frustration. “Then why didn’t you tell me?” Your tone was harsh yet his response was light. “I thought you knew better.” You stared down at the arrow for a few beats before Revali chimed in again. “Well?” He hummed, not bothering to hide the motion of his hips separating from yours slightly. Brushing off the shiver he gave you, you bent down to grab the arrow. As soon as your hand came into contact with it, he rocked back into you harshly. His grip on your sides kept you from falling forward completely, yet didn’t do much to limit the harsh buckle of your knees.
“Oh! Pardon me! Where you not fully prepared? A good archer is always aware of their surroundings, dove. Perhaps I should be more strict with you?” The cocky bird smirked and let out an airy chuckle, softly berating you beneath him.

From Revali III of The Second Calamity: The War that Broke a Kingdom:
“Don’t assume that I like you. This is only because, my husband,” he began, voice dripping with venom, “after the stunt you pulled that day, we are bound for life.”
Link took the feather, looking confused.
“Need I braid the Hylian’s hair for him again, hm? Honestly, I wouldn’t expect any better from the Hylian champion,” Revali continued before setting to work.
hahahaha Revali did the whole "Don't think it's because I like you or anything" (he does actually hate Link)
Post the fic summary for a fic you haven't written/published yet. It can be hypothetical or something you really plan on releasing.
I've been holding onto this idea for a while but this would have to be something after the end of The Second Calamity. Massive project and also would obviously contain massive spoilers for it and Zzariyo's Eyes Half Closed because we ship their OC Meelo with Karranis. I'd love to write this someday, but zero promises I ever get here.
"Ten years after his brief stint with Revali, First Warrior Meelo still hasn't moved on. As anger simmers amongst the Rito, Meelo finds a mysterious warrior who promises to fix all of his problems.
Finding himself deep in the future in an unfamiliar Hyrule, Karranis does his best to navigate his new life. A Rito Warrior takes him in and shows a bit of a soft side; as much as he doesn't want to admit it, his own heart is opened a bit."

Not sure if this one's going to find its way to AO3 or not, but...
Sidon had always looked up to Vah Ruta. To his sister's grave. To the eternal reminder of his people's failure. Now, to the thing that threatened to destroy them. Seggin had tried to appease it a few weeks before.
He tentatively dipped a toe into the reservoir. Despite his search, no help had come. He had volunteered to take on Vah Ruta, despite his father's protests. Counting the shock arrows one last time—22—he finally pushed himself into the water.

I made things today. I had over an hour to waste while I waited for lunch hours to start at my university, so I drew some Wolfbred!
Long-winded description/lore thing under the cut.
As you can see, Wolfbred are very often blond with blue eyes, but there are exceptions! Wolfbred were created when Link (Twilight Princess) was exposed to Twilight and transformed into a wolf. The Twilight left a permanent stain on Link's genetics, which effectively made all his descendants werewolves. As such, many Wolfbred are given names from the Twilight Era. (Is Twilight supposed to be capitalized? I don't remember. I've been staring at DNA for too long.)
Top left is Pryze! Pryze is a knight in Princess Zelda's personal guard. He takes his orders from Link. He doesn't speak much Hylian, and he prefers to talk only with Zora and other Wolfbred (many Wolfbred are fearful of Hylians, including Pryze). He's the 3rd youngest Wolfbred in the Clan at 28. He's unique for many reasons, most notable being his markings. Although most Wolfbred only display their markings underneath moonlight (or if exposed to Twilight themselves), Pryze has permanent markings due to vitiligo. As such, he's known as the "Marked Wolfbred." Over ten years passed between his birth and Link's. I adopted Pryze from LittleStarMewtwo26
Top right is Link! I don't need to tell you who Link is, Link needs no introduction. But I'm going to ramble anyway. Link is the 2nd youngest Wolfbred in the Clan. He's also the first Wolfbred to marry outside the Clan... at the Clan's urging. (There were no more lady Wolfbred... except for Link's sister 🫣) At first glance, Link looks like he's smiling. These are actually scars. When Link was first knighted, Wolfbred were still required to be muzzled inside Hyrule Castle. Link's muzzle sliced open his face from his handlers yanking on the chains attached to it. The King and Princess intervened, and the King ruled that because Link was Zelda's personal knight that she got to decide whether he was required to be muzzled or not. A 12-year-old Zelda, frightened from the bloody incident, chose to exempt Link from muzzling. Eventually, Link and Zelda were able to prove that Wolfbred were safe creatures even without the muzzles, which gave King Rhoam the authority to ban the devices. I wouldn't advise approaching Link too quickly, or getting your hands too close to his head.
Bottom left is Twili! She is the apothecary and midwife for Hateno Village. She is about Ordon, Link's father's, age. She is a senior Wolfbred at 34 (Wolfbred are considered seniors at 30, as they develop many health problems around that age) but has not aged as dramatically as other Wolfbred in her age range. She has been mistaken to be Link's mother many times by non-Wolfbred, due to them misinterpreting the Wolfbred's affectionate culture (and the fact that Link acts less shy with Wolfbred) to be a family relationship between the two. All of the Champions, except for Mipha, have made this mistake. Many Wolfbred live in the Zora settlement of Goponga, and work in Zora's Domain, so Mipha already knew who Link's mother was. I designed her several years ago, originally as Link's niece. And then Link's sister married Revali's son, so I had to change things.
Bottom right is Midna Marie! She is the mother of Link and Sydnei. She is the last female Wolfbred to have live pups. Link and Sydnei, the only two Wolfbred born alive in the last 25 years, are her puppies. She got to meet the Queen and King of Hyrule at Hyrule Castle during the de-exile process. Her husband got to serve the Queen as her bodyguard, and her son serves the Princess as her bodyguard. She dropped dead when Sydnei was 2, and when Link was 10. It was... a very startling and dramatic departure from the world. Her greatest regret in life is that she couldn't get away from her son before passing away, as the trauma from witnessing her sudden death strengthened his hatred towards non-Wolfbred Hylians. Midna Marie was also designed by LittleStarMewtwo26

who are ur links??? names and games and gun facts maybe???
!!!
First, we got First, aka Link from the sksw manga. Sad pathetic wet cat. Wants to go back home to his husband, but is STUCK HERE. He's the tallest Link (by an inch)!
Then Feather (sksw)! His fun fact is that he has the full Triforce, but no one knows that for, uh, plot reasons ig. He also regularly practices the harp, because Fi taught him and well- she's not there anymore. My dearest friend here, Godslayer Fulltriforce, does not understand why the others think he's one of the strongest. Anyway, hey, look at this cool sword he uses! It's a double helix blade, isn't that neat?
Then we have my personal little combo Link- MC/FS/FSA. His fun fact is he never used the four sword to put the colors back together (permanently), and they're all just. Y'know. There. (and Shadow. Freeloader.) The FSA comes in with this cool and fun thing I call CONVENIENT TIME TRAVEL
Then oot, aka Mask, because I am incredibly attached to the name and also that's just how the Links named each other. First notable unique trait. His was the masks, which just chill on his belt and offer mostly unhelpful advice. AMAP (assigned male at princess). Physically the youngest, but oh boy. Who even fucking knows what his mental age is (it's why he doesn't talk).
Then we have TP, who, like most of them, still doesn't have a name. His fun fact is that he's trans, but only because I wanted to make a really bad joke. He's friends with Zelda, but only because he uses her magic fountain to talk to Midna, and after a while it got kinda awkward to just walk into her house without knowing her
Wind Waker, aka Patch! Yes, his name is that for exactly the reason you would expect (he doesn't need an eyepatch, he just has a conveniently placed scar)! He's one of the three Triforce Links (Triforce heroes, one could say-), with both Courage and Power. He doesn't know about Power, and could care less about Courage
Spirit Tracks! Idk. He may or may not be in, depends on if I can find a good playthrough to watch
alttp/oos/ooa/la Link, aka Apple! Hermit apple farmer guy after he (willingly) left Hyrule once and got his heart broken (thanks, Marin). He and his Zelda are good friends (or maybe more idk). Doesn't talk, just stares piercingly into your eyes until you start getting uncomfortable because he looks about one bad thing away from breaking down sobbing
albw/th, Paint- he's a little guy :) half of the storage in his house is Ravio's stuff, and the other half is his wardrobe from Hytopia. I also need to find a playthrough for him.
loz 1 & 2, Wanderer, named thus because he doesn't stay in one place, much to his Zeldas' annoyance! The oldest Link (thats a coincidence, I promise). Everyone is like, wow, [botw], your Hyrule is horrible and filled with monsters, meanwhile he's just fucking crying because it's so nice here, look, the water isn't poisonous and the grass isn't trying to kill us and I can see the sky
HW! My most specialest guy :) I gave him Issues. Your token pyromaniac Link, fell in love with Sheik a la OoT- now both he and Zelda have things they need to think about for a good long while!
Lastly, botw! Truly does not understand what a gender is, even among the many other "has lived in the forest half their lives" Links. Whether or not he's experienced totk depends on whether I like it lol. Takes the advice of his own personal peanut gallery (the Champions' spirits) seriously, even when it's just Revali telling him to do something really fucking stupid. Talks a whole lot, especially to the master sword (he heard about Fi and figured hey why not). His glorious purpose in life is to cook, and if he wasn't so distracted sauteing vegetables he'd be one of the most powerful
#sorry it took a while to respond it was supper time#mb's writing#links meet au (name pending)#mb and flux scream about hats#i should have put this under a read more#loz

Chasing Dragons, a botw megafic
Chapter 29 'If you're Wile E Coyote, and I'm the the roadrunner, then who's piloting Vah Medoh!?' is up now!
...
The warriors are gone when Link steps out of the roost, but a few paces down the walkway now stands a rito woman, her soft lilac feathers raised from stress. She must have been waiting for him, her eyes trained on the curtain, because as soon as he emerges she jolts and rushes towards him. Slight tremors in her hands suggest she’s been losing sleep, and her eyes are intense as she towers over Link.
“I’m sorry,” she says, “I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation… or I suppose I could have, but I didn’t. Is it true? You intend to stop Medoh, with Teba’s help?”
Link nods, and her eyes lower. “I was afraid so… But if the elder trusts you, then so do I. My name is Saki, Teba is my husband. If you want his help, you will have to catch up with him; he’s already planning on fighting Medoh again. I tried to convince him not to, but he wouldn’t listen… once he’s made his mind up about something, there’s no reasoning with him. He has a true Rito’s pride, after all… and a true warrior’s heart. Kaneli is right, you will need his help. But…”
Link waits for her to go on, and she gives a heavy sigh. “It was a miracle he made it back unscathed the first time, and I’m afraid we don’t have miracles to spare. The truth is, I wish I could forbid him from fighting Medoh, and forbid you from seeking him out, but I understand the reason for his determination. Medoh must be stopped. So I will tell you where my husband went, only if you do one thing for me.”
“Of course.”
Saki demands, her gaze fierce, “Tell him that if he does anything foolish and gets himself killed, I’ll never forgive him. I need my husband, our children need their father -- not a martyr.”
Link meets her eyes, and says softly, “I will.” Saki deflates, the brittle tension leaving her all at once.
“Thank you,” she exhales. “Come, I will show you the way.”
She leads him a few levels down away from the clusters of roosts towards the middle of the spire. They pass several rito on the narrow walkways, but the large, open platform that they arrive at is deserted. Painted on the wood of the landing is the same symbol woven onto Link’s paraglider. The landing extends from the central pillar further into the open air than the rest of the structures around it, and the wind is harsher. The ruby circlet only does so much, and Link tries to rub some warmth back into his fingers.
“This is Revali’s Landing,” Saki says over the wind as Link follows her towards the outer railing. “From here you can see…”
Link doesn’t hear her.
Even at the cresting point of spring rolling into summer, Stonespire was brutally cold. Fine snow from the earlier storm still dusted the rest of the rito settlement, imprinted by uncountable bird tracks and likely to melt away before sunset, but the main landing was clear and empty. The thin layer of snow had already been blown away by the roaring winds created by Vah Medoh during Revali’s earlier dramatic display. The sky was only just beginning to clear, blue appearing behind grey clouds in patches. Link looked around for the willful hunter he was sent after. He could have sworn he saw blue feathers flash by just a moment ago…

Who is your favorite person?
What is your favorite thing?
When is your favorite memory?
Where is your favorite place?
Why are these your favorite?
Teba, Tulin, and Revali. For obvious reasons my favorite people consist of my family, my husband, son, and Revali (who at this point is as close to a son as he will likely allow himself to be) however if I was forced to chose one in thr instance of a battle, I'd attempt at getting to Tulin first. Teba and Revali are both capable and strong, however Tulin is still young. He is strong yes, but I am a mother after all, I'd want to know my chick is safe before all else. Besides, I know both Teba and Revali would want me to go after Tulin in a case like that.
My favorite thing......a difficult question, probably the necklace I was gifted on my tenth birthday. My mother made it for me out of smooth rocks and jade beads, it's meant to warrant good luck and I wear it on days I need luck.
My favorite memory is my wedding day, I like to remember how Teba looked when I came to stand before him beside the Elder. (He got a little choked up)
My favorite place would have to be a spring back in my homeland. I went there frequently with my mother, of course just to look around, but I'd like to take Tulin there some day.

"I see", Kass said. "Like a swordsman, he deflects and parries."
Amali hugged his arm after she stared at him in adoration. "It's so sexy the way you word stuff with your poet-talk. I want to have your baby."
Sorry I laughed so hard at this part.

Revalink Baby Short Fic
“It’s here.”
Two words from Teba and their life’s trajectory was thrown onto a new course forever with a dizzying, lurching abruptness.
Revali had felt that stomach lifting, weightless sensation of being launched up into an updraft countless times, but never while standing, and certainly never without an actual physical updraft. His legs had gone numb in an instant, but through sheer willpower, he maintained his dignity and kept himself steady.
Link too was obviously experiencing much of the same symptoms. His climber’s instinct had kicked in and he had found the nearest thing to grip onto while he regained his footing. Unfortunately, that ‘thing’ was Revali. Five powerful fingers dug into his shoulder in a searing vice grip.
It hardly registered.
They exchanged a bewildered but hopeful look and let Teba guide them down through the village to the communal kitchen where Saki sat waiting by the fire.
She glanced at them when they entered and smiled warmly before unclasping her wings, revealing a small egg.
Link’s breath hitched and his posture lifted with elation.
“Don’t get too excited just yet,” Revali said dryly. He was telling that to himself as much as he was to Link. “Wasn’t it you hylians who coined the old adage don’t count your cuccos before they hatch?”
His husband’s expression dropped to a controlled neutral and he gave a tight nod. It was rather obvious in his clenched fists and perky ears though that his hopes were still up. Poor foolish little light of his life. He had been through war, indescribable loss and then even more war and still never really managed to outgrow that childish optimism of his.
While the bowmaster found most to all public displays of affection deplorable, he still quite purposely ghosted a lingering wing over the small of Link’s back when he brushed by, his claws clacking on the wooden boards towards the fire. Receiving the egg from Saki, he held it with upmost care and regarded the fragile thing. First he inspected for cracks or imperfections and only then did he allow his second look-over to be one of awe. Such a tiny delicate entity for all its importance.
It was a symbol of their love. It was a third person introduced into their relationship of whom they would come to adore just a fiercely some day soon. A new little twig on his embarrassingly barren and forgotten ancestral stump. Something that would grow into an olive branch to reach out and intertwine into Teba and Saki’s own expansive family tree. (Saki being their gracious egg donor of course)
“Tulin’s quite excited to have a half sibling,” Saki said. “It was a struggle to keep him home but we figured… just in case, it was better to not have him here.”
Revali nodded solemnly. “Only fletchings allow themselves to get caught up with fantasies at this stage.” Quite the hypocritical statement on his part. He really ought to know better. So often it just leads to disappointment. “We have to check to see if it’s even fertilized,” Revali explained to Link, coming off almost blasé with how carefully he was dampening his tone.
Teba and Saki quickly moved to close the kitchen curtains while Link watched with forlorn confusion. “Come here,” Revali ordered and his hylian robotically joined him by his seat at the fire. He cupped the egg between his wingtips and up towards the flames (careful to not put it too close) before burying his face into his tunneled wings to peer at the light passing through the thin shell walls.
A small little black dot clung to the nearest side, long veins spanned out radially from its center in all directions like the roots of a tree.
It worked.
This was happening.
He ushered Link onto his lap and showed him as well but the hylian remained still with practiced stoicism. Right, he wouldn’t know what he was looking for. Revali rolled his eyes and grazed his beak tenderly against Link’s ear. “Now, you may get a little excited,” he said with amusement.
Link clutched at his wings and looked closer.
“That little speck, that’s it right there,” Revali murmured softly. “Them,” he quickly corrected, ‘it’ was a term he had been pre-emptively using to try and not get too attached to something that might not even exist. “That’s them. That’s our child.”
Link peeled back and twisted around so quickly that Revali had to fumble to readjust his hold on the egg to not drop it. “Watch it!” He snapped.
“We’re having a baby,” Link said with disbelief. Shining blue eyes wet with emotion bore into green.
Revali relaxed.
“Well, hatchling, but semantics,” Revali agreed. He pressed his forehead to Link’s in a gentle crest. “We’re having a baby.”
-
A month passed by at a terribly slow rate. The egg was kept wrapped in one of Revali’s old scarves and held near a great flame blade that Link had lodged into their floorboards before Revali could so much as protest the permanent scar it would leave on their home.
It felt a remarkable lot like cheating.
Typically the incubation period involved the sacred ritual of fire keeping, where one partner would continuously stoke the fire and the other would retrieve the wood. At night, they would sleep in shifts.
With fire magic however, they managed full night’s sleeps and Revali was even able to maintain his hectic training schedule, so he eventually stopped complaining.
…until a month passed and the egg showed no signs of hatching.
He tried to assure himself that the hatchling was just taking its time. It was what one should have expected of his progeny, it was likely it simply had standards for its own development, biding its time for its debut until it was certain it was perfect in every way.
Saki had told him that some eggs take longer than others and that they were still well within a reasonable timeline, but having taken so many shortcuts, he grew concerned, nonetheless.
He knew deep down it was wrong, but he couldn’t help but partially blame Link in his mind. The sword was HIS idea. What if it hadn’t provided enough heat? He became irritable and frazzled in the later days, ceasing all other responsibilities to hold quiet vigil by his little heart-sized and heart-consuming treasure. In a lot of ways, he was punishing himself for his own laziness. He refused to eat or sleep no matter how desperately Link tried to coax him to bed or entice him with aromatically scintillating meals.
Finally, just as he was beginning to give up hope, the egg cradled in his wings began to shake.
Forgetting the fight he had with his mate just a few minutes earlier about something he couldn’t even remember, he frantically called his name out and, because Link was too good and perfect in every way to have ever run off and left him in his misery, he quickly joined him at his side.
He placed the egg down and they watched as a beak slowly cracked through the shell. This time it was Revali who gripped Link.
Slowly but surely, the chick broke their way out.
They weren’t the first hatchling he had ever seen so he wasn’t too surprised by their appearance. He’d heard the phrase many times before that ‘rito hatchlings have a face only a parent could love’. He had always assumed of course that those parents were LYING.
Obviously, if the swelling in his chest and the vibration of his blood were any indication though, this had been true. They were featherless and veiny, their skin a mottled ruddy pink and muddy brown. The chick’s eyes were far too large for their head and bulged outwards, covered by half-transparent violet eyelids that remained tightly shut and wouldn’t open for a few weeks yet.
They were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. (Of course maybe falling for a hylian had also helped him a little in coming to terms with the appearance of horrifically bare flesh)
He was struck with sudden apprehension though at Link’s reaction. “This is normal,” he said quickly. “They’re supposed to look this way.” Unfortunately, nothing could ever be done about the fact that no fletchling they ever had could carry Link’s blood; something hylians all seemed to put such immense importance into. Some part of him always worried that when the time came, Link would have difficultly seeing this chick as his own.
He looked at Link in concern when there was no immediate response and quickly relaxed.
He had never seen him so in love in his entire life. Not even when he looked at Revali himself.
Link glanced at the rito, already reaching towards their little fleshy bundle. “Can I… hold them?”
Revali nodded. “Despite their appearance, rito hatchlings aren’t nearly as weak as hylian newborns. They can even hold up their own necks.”
Link lifted their child with heartstruck wonder, woefully indifferent to their sticky amniotic coating. “They’re really hot to the touch!” Link said with surprise. “And I can feel their heartbeat against my palm! It’s hammering” He looked the hatchling up and down. “Is it a boy or girl?”
“We won’t know for a while,” Revali said, “Most families hold off on naming until later.” He was honestly feeling a little jealous of Link right now for how he was hogging their child, but for all Revali put him through these last few days with his own stubbornness, Link deserved these first moments.
…but those moments were over. Revali gently but eagerly took the hatchling into his own comparatively enormous wings and slowly cleaned them off with a towel.
When he was done, he stared at the tiny creature fondly for a fraction of a second before he frowned and handed them back to Link.
“They’ll need to be kept warm until their feathers grow in,” he said matter of factly.
Link nodded and placed the chick into the fluffy collar of his snowquill set. “Is something wrong?” Link asked, dropping a hand on Revali’s wing.
“I’ve been rather terrible to you. I don’t react well to stress,” he admitted guiltily.
“It was fine,” Link said.
“It wasn’t,” Revali replied. “You’re going to be a wonderful parent Link. You’re too patient for your own good.”
Link slowly eased himself over and manually wrapped Revali’s wings around himself. The rito offered no resistance. Instead, he angled his head and buried his beak into the hylian’s soft golden hair. It was still in a loose messy ponytail from that morning. In the last five years that they’d been married, even when they had fought, he had never neglected to style Link’s hair in some fashion or another until these last couple of days. How could he have been so cold to him? His heart hurt.
“You weren’t as bad as you think you were,” Link promised. “And it was just because you cared so much. They’re going to love you too. Almost as much as I do.”
Revali’s embrace tightened. “I’m braiding your hair after this,” he informed him. He’d even pluck out new feathers instead of using the old ones that were getting a little worn.
“And what’s ‘this’?” Link asked.
“Let’s just… stay here a while,” Revali yawned, exhaustion finally sinking in.
“Okay,” Link agreed.
The chick was too young to understand them, but they almost looked like their little beak was quirked up into a smile nonetheless. They really were quite unbelievably docile for one that’s newly hatched. If the couple was lucky, perhaps it had inherited Link’s temperament after all. He hoped so.
There was no one in Hyrule with a kinder heart.
He nodded off, still nestled up to his two greatest loves.

Successors - Chapter Ten - Called to Mount Lanayru
*One Year Later*
~~~
He’d heard her voice. It seems just memorizing the songs of the Hero of Ten Thousand Years Ago wasn’t enough to free her from a sealed fate. This task he’d accepted from his teacher, to learn all the songs of the Hero to pass them down when Zelda’s husband returned to free their kingdom from the Malice, was about so much more than just mere melodies.
So he packed up his accordion, said goodbye to his family and departed for the wintery peak of Mount Lanayru. Upon arriving at this wisest peak, he was met with several sights that made him question such a calling: the Malice entangling Naydra, the overthrown atmosphere of the Spring, and the feathery purple reptile staring down at him with a condemning glare.
"Welcome, Kass, descendant of Revali." The feminine-sounding reptile's tail made a singular echoing smack against the holy water, growing as she absorbed the shadows coming from the statue of the great Goddess Hylia. What was this being? A judge of Wisdom to fulfill Nayru's degree? There wasn't the smallest twitch along the feathery body of the beast, aside from a slight tilt upwards of the head. "So you have come to aid Her Majesty. Good." Minimal light bounced around a small golden bracelet around the front right wrist. In the aged gold, the word 'Sirie' glimmered in the unnatural darkness. "You have found yourself in a very sacred place. The history of entire peoples breathes and dies here, under the unwavering and unbribable eye of Wisdom. Exiles, goddesses and heroes have all rested in these waters since the time of Hylia, and many more to come under here's aid." She bowed her head. "I have seen this being's heart, finding it pure in all ways and wise enough for Judgement. My great descendant of Hylia, please make yourself known in this place."
The symbol of Nayru became alight upon the dragon's head, spreading blue lightness into the darkness before the statue of Hylia was overtaken by another, brighter gold light. Two figures of light, one a strong male and the other a burdened female appeared until their figures formed: the late Prince(King?) of Hyrule and his heavily pregnant wife, Queen Zelda Esmerelda of Hyrule.
"Welcome." Her Majesty the Queen lowered an almost unnoticeable distance, legs trembling under her weight. The strong hand of her fallen warrior and love pulled her back to standing and closer to his side. "Look, Link," She whispered so much quieter to him, but Kass made it out all the same. "He is so different than our fallen friend…" Link preeminently wiped the mourning from her thin cheeks, "but I can sense Revali in him, all the same. A special task… Hylia has set him apart. He will need no sword for the rest of his days. Another, She has chosen for Medoh's charge."
The softest chuffing danced on the waters, the matriarch's hero leaned ever closer to her. "You don't have to write a poem, dear… He'll understand divinity even in plain Hylian." True to what he'd learned about the fallen Champion, Link took the gentlest hand, tipping the Queen backwards ever so slightly until spirit met goddess. Upon their release, he tipped his own head skyward and a high, long sound flowed from his throat to the stars that house his ancestors. The howl of the last male Wolfbred.
His wife's words flowed under his enduring howl. "You have been given a very special gift, along with a very special task. Take these melodies you've learned, give them to the peoples to remind them of us, discover the places we held so dearly, and hold onto your greatest lament for when my love arrives before you cloaked in flesh. He will be but a shell of himself when this happens, and I entrust him only to such a lament about the past, present, and future. It is you, descendant of Revali, Khosha, Revarie, Sydnei and Etoli, to set the stage, and bring the descendants of Champions and Survivors alike so we may close the book on this war started nearly over hundred years ago. To close this book, to open and begin another draped in the courage of this land of successors.
Kass' legs shuddered from her words, "Yes, my Queen. Whatever you say to end this all."
The King of Wolves finally lowered his head and his howl. "I'll keep an eye on your family. They will grow passionate for this cause." He shook out his full head of hair, kissed his wife once more with only a fraction of the grace, and took a four legged leap into the stars above, becoming one with them all.
"I must see you off as well, for Ganon grows stronger every day. But I know we will meet soon, I feel the heartbeats of the wilds and winds," Zelda winked at her poetically cryptic statement. "Goodbye, yet only for now, Kass."
The next years blazed through like mere moments, serving his king and queen with melodies and lyrics, watching the eyes of children light up at the mention of these powerful legends, and watching the tribes of the once fallen land drift closer and closer to each other; in preparation for the final hours Zelda foretold that night atop the frozen Mount Lanayru.
